ABOUT YAAKOV YISROEL TOPPER

Our son Yaakov Yisroel was taken from us a few years ago. Yaakov Yisrael was an avid hockey player and was in fact registered to play at the inaugural RCCS Hockey Classic at the time of his passing.

Attending the tournament without YY, was painful and heartbreaking. And these emotions still linger. Our son had a caring heart and loved to give and connect with others. He cared deeply for those suffering in any way, and would extend himself to alleviate their difficulties.

As the shock of his passing still reverberates inside each of us, we are grateful to have found a way to perpetuate Yaakov Yisroel's legacy.

We could think of no better way to honor our son's life than to dedicate this tournament in his memory. This is what Yaakov Yisrael would have wanted and it highlights the kind of extraordinary person that he was.

Countless individuals are now connecting to the special soul that he possessed and experiencing the great person that we all cared for and loved.

RCCS is an organization that operates solely on good hearts, generating tremendous support, love, and care for those in our community battling cancer. Over the past few years, the tournament grew in an overwhelmingly wonderful way, thus facilitating greater care and services to the RCCS patients. We know and feel that as the kindness and charity of the tournament grows, we are comforted by the knowledge that we are making our son proud.

Because helping people through hockey, this event is the true embodiment of Yaakov Yisroel.
