Los Angeles is the City of Dreams. But for some of our neighbors, it's the City of Broken Dreams.
⁃ They dreamed of a comfortable home...but they haven't been able to make a mortgage payment in months.
⁃ They dreamed of peace and tranquility...but life is full of daily stresses, grocery bills that can't be paid.
⁃ They dreamed of a happy family...but month after month, they are being crushed by impossible tuition payments.
They are hard-working and dignified. They are wholesome and giving. Yet their dreams have been crushed, and now every day is a struggle.
But our community doesn't stand down when our neighbors are suffering. We stand up together - in ordinary times and especially in challenging times. Because LA is ONE COMMUNITY.
We may speak English, Hebrew or Farsi. We may live in the City, the Valley or the Hills. We may be doctors, lawyers or Rabbis. We aren't all the same...but we are ONE LA. We stand together. We support each other. And all of us support Tomchei LA.
