Minyan Shelanu:
Healing the Pain, Rebuilding the Person
There are children in our community who are suffering quietly. There are adults living in pain so deep that it hides behind layers of addiction, isolation, and despair. Minyan Shelanu exists for one reason - to bring healing, light, and love to those who feel broken.
We are here 24/7 to help guide and advise. To help heal and grow. As we recently explained to a distraught parent: "It's about making your child healthy again. And when you do that, you get your child back." Because when we heal the pain, we heal the person. And a healed person will naturally want to grow, to thrive, to return.
Minyan Shelanu provides a deeply personal, all-encompassing support system for teens and adults navigating some of life's hardest struggles-abuse, addiction, trauma, and emotional crisis. They come to us to be seen, to be protected, and most of all, to be loved.
Our services go far beyond the scope of traditional community programming. We offer:
• Crisis response and 24/7 mentorship
• School and yeshiva placement for struggling teens
• Therapy coordination and financial support for treatment
• Rehab placement and funding for detox, inpatient, and aftercare
• Legal guidance and help connecting with appropriate lawyers when youth or adults get into trouble
• Support through the dating process, ensuring our teens and young adults build stable, healthy relationships
• Marital guidance for those struggling in their homes
• Job training and job placement to help them stand on their feet
We believe that healing must touch every area of life - and so our programs do just that. We maintain a state-of-the-art drop-in center with a vibrant game room, giving teens a safe, joyful place to unwind and feel at home. We've built a fitness center because we know a strong body fosters a strong mind, and a healthy mind paves the way for healing. Our nightly learning program from 9:30 - 10:00 p.m. is a soul-renewing experience - where boys who hadn't opened a Gemara in years are now diving deep into Masechtot with excitement and pride.
And perhaps most importantly, our mentors are always there. Not just during the day - but at night, when the pain creeps in and the silence can be deafening. There's always someone to call, always someone to talk to, always someone who cares.
With a budget that now exceeds $3 million annually, our ability to continue this work depends on people like you-people who understand that the stakes are high, and the need is urgent.
These are not "bad kids." These are not "lost causes." These are our children, our neighbors, our brothers and sisters - carrying pain too heavy to bear alone. Minyan Shelanu is here to carry that pain with them, to lighten the load, and to walk with them on the path back to themselves.
Together, we can rebuild what's been broken. Together, we can make them whole.
