Please help us reach our goal to raise the funds for our new shul building.
It was just about half a year ago that K'hal South Whitesville (KSW) was founded with the lofty goal of creating a מקום תורה ותפילה in the South Whitesville community of Toms River, which would be both warm and welcoming in a true מקום קדוש.
Beginning on פרשת מקץ in the rented garage of one of our members furnished with only the basic necessities, our shul has already come a long way, with seats and ספרים to accommodate over 60 מתפללים; and an earnest search for a Rov began at once.
The month of May was a joyous one for KSW: we celebrated a grand הכנסת ספר תורה and finalized the right candidate for our Rov.
We are privileged to have Harav Yaakov Slatus שליט״א as the leader of our kehila. He combines the qualities of a tremendous תלמיד חכם and מגיד שיעור with the wisdom and sensitivities to know how to deal with each family and individual. These characteristics come naturally to him, as his father has been the Rov of the Savannah, Georgia community for over 40 years. Rav Slatus has already begun to deliver stimulating, uplifting שיעורים and דרשות throughout Shabbos, and recently a Thursday night shiur was added, with more on the horizon.
With the community growing and the shul looking to offer more, we have already outgrown our location. B”H we were able to secure the property next door, and broke ground Wednesday on the structure being built with almost 200 seats including a full Ezras Nashim.
With each member already committed to raising the funds needed for this project, we ask of you - friends and family, as well as anyone that wishes to be part of this worthy cause - please help us reach our goal.
