Sit back, relax and picture this scene in your mind.
10 coach busses driving up the winding road into the Old City of Jerusalem. In just a few minutes 125 campers and close to 300 support staff pull up and start the small trek to the holiest site in Judaism.
They make their way to the plaza where there is a table with this wizened old man with a beautiful soulful smile standing, waiting for the courageous Kids of Courage.
One by one each Courager files by the 4th generation Jerusalemite who has learnt the singular talent of being a Torah scribe from his father who learnt it from his father who learnt it from his father before him.
Each Courager gets the chance to write a letter in the Torah scroll like hundreds of thousands of Jews have done so in this exact same spot for the past few thousand years since the times of our greatest leader, Moshe Rabbeinu.
One thing is different though; never before have Holy children like these help write a Torah scroll.
The Kotel Plaza is jammed. All are there. Not an inch to spare but G-d recreates the miracle of the Holy Temple and there is room for all.
The writing is finished, the scroll held high for all the thousands to see. The only sound is the birds starting their song to G-d.
The Torah is wrapped in a beautiful leather cover with the Kids of Courage logo for all to see.
And then the music starts.
One wheelchair bound Courager starts moving his chair to the music. One child with a crutch starts to tap out a beat. Back & forth round & round. Then the boy next to him, then their counselors, the staff, the medical team.
Within seconds the dancing is out of control. The counselors hoist some campers on their shoulders. Time comes to a standstill. Nothing else exists.
Angels stop their service to the Almighty and join in our sacred dance. G-d is watching and tears fall from His face.
There are no other sounds save for the holy souls of Kids of Courage singing on the top of their lungs.
The thousands of visitors to the Kotel join us. Black hats, no hats, knitted kipas, no kippas. Religious, secular, traditional. All singing and dancing a dance to sanctify G-d's name. Tears fall unabashedly from the strongest down to those filled with emotion.
A dance so holy it hasn't been seen since the days of the Temple and won't be seen again until the 3rd Temple is built speedily in our days.
