WHAT IS THE RCCS Canada HOCKEY CLASSIC?
The RCCS Canada Hockey Classic is a unique tournament, that challenges its participants in both fundraising and competitive hockey. It is the fourth tournament of the RCCS Hockey Classic franchise, with the purpose of increasing awareness, support of RCCS, (Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society) and building community involvement through passion for hockey.
WHAT IS RCCS?
RCCS, a recognized Canadian Charitable organization, provides an array of services to cancer patients and their families, enabling them to secure the best possible medical care. Notably, among the myriad services offered by RCCS is medical referrals and support, as well as health insurance premium and medical subsidies, which provides patients with broader access to global oncologists and leaders in the cancer treatment field.
WHERE WILL THE Canada CLASSIC TAKE PLACE?
The games, playoffs, and championships will be played at The Honey and Barry Memorial Arena. Additional games will be played at Paramount North.
HOW WILL THE Canada CLASSIC TOURNAMENT
WORK?
Each team will play a series of play in games followed by a single elimination playoff.
WHAT ARE THE GAME RULES?
All hockey penalties will be enforced according to the refereeās discretion. There will be no checking allowed and any intentional checking will result in a penalty. Any fighting or inappropriate behavior will result in an immediate ejection from the tournament. All ties will result in a shootout.
WILL THERE BE FOOD?
Sunday, upon arrival at the tournament, players will be served a light breakfast. Additional food, snacks, and drinks will be provided throughout the day. After the gameplay on Sunday, there will be a lavish Awards Ceremony Party for all of the players to be held at the Westwood Arena.
ARE FAMILIES INVITED TO ATTEND?
Families are invited and encouraged to attend. There will be family entertainment as well as food and giveaways for all attendees.
