Please partner with us as we proudly accept the Chai Lifeline West Coast Champions of Courage award at their upcoming virtual Gala on December 15, 2021.
As many of you know Chai-Lifeline is an organization that was there with us from the very first days of Ari's diagnosis and still is, holding our hand through Ari’s and our journey of recovery and healing.
If you are reading this you most likely know us. You know how important it is for us to be there for our community in simchas and in times of need. When Ari was diagnosed you all showed up for us. Through words and deeds that carried us all the way through today.

It took us time to shift our mindset from one that gives to one that receives. We didn’t know what kind of support we needed. Only after Alyssa Weisel from Chailifeline showed up at Ari’s PICU room, days after his diagnosis, we understood that we needed help.
Ari and Aya are actively participating and benefitting from Chailifeline’s incredible programs in the west coast.
Every week they get to meet, play and have fun with our volunteers Talia and Serina. Both are volunteers for the ‘Big Sister’ program. They show up full of energy and enthusiasm to engage with Aya and Ari through play. It’s so heart warming to see the smiles on the kids’ faces as they have their special time with Talia and Serina.
During the pandemic - Chai Lifeline immediately adjusted to “Zoom Life” and Aya was enrolled in i-Shine, a program focused on siblings - whose needs often become secondary to those of the sick child. i-Shine was the highlight of each week for Aya, receiving a package to our house with an activity and even through Zoom Chai Lifeline, through i-Shine, made Aya feel very special.
Each volunteer who showed up for our kids - is salt of the earth full of compassion, energetic and loving. Whether through one on ones, Zoom programs and also their incredible summer Camp Simcha, which both our kids loved, everyone of them has touched our lives so meaningfully.
We are indebted to Chai Lifeline and are honored once again to receive this award and to be in a place to ask you for your support. For every dollar you donate, we will donate $1.00 for this incredible organization!
With love,
The Ellman’s
