Benny was one of you. As a member of the team Benny received so much, and gave just as much of himself as well. You gave him ' Simcha' in a way that only ' Camp Simcha' knows, and he fought to give back to you in his own special way. Just two weeks before Benny passed away, he took to the Bike4Chai stage. From deep within his heart, Benny expressed the huge impact, which an amazing organization named ' Chai-Lifeline' had on his life. Bennys words stirred the hearts of all those present to increase their efforts on behalf of the fundraising campaign.
As a true ' Ben-Torah' and an integral part of the yeshiva, Benny persisted to learn Torah whenever he could. Between treatments and tests and despite anguish and pain, Benny never gave up. Benny continued to keep his ' Sdarim' as much as possible, while still maintaining his noble persona, which was an integral part of the cheerful mood in the hospital. When Benny came for treatments, he made sure to bring his guitar; Benny would then go from room to room to make others in the hospital happy. Benny would enlighten and strengthen patients with soulful songs that come from deep within his heart; a heart that managed to welcome and make space for everyone.
On ×– ב×ב, Benny' s soul returned to its Creator after three years of fighting a terrible disease with supreme heroism. Benny's 21 years on this earth was filled with doing Mitzvos, giving to others and Torah learning. Although, Benny experienced extreme suffering, he kept smiling and reassuring those around him. This is who Benyamin Asher Briff z'l was. He would give everything to those around him, never thinking of himself. We decided to devote a Sefer Torah, dedicated from the Bike 4 Chai riders, for the elevation of Benny's pure soul. Hopefully, we can complete it in time for the first annual commemoration of his yartzeit. We need dedicated partners to help us fulfill this mission, and just as you were a part of Benny' s life, we hope you will also wish to take part in this great dedication to elevate Benny's soul.
With much gratitude and appreciation,
The Briff Family
