Mr. Effy Hematian z"l was a loving husband, father, grandfather, visionary and community leader. His honesty and humility illuminated all those around him. Through his unwavering emuna in Hashem, he demonstrated that we can live a life of passion and purpose, leaving this world better than he found it. Hailing from modest beginnings, he never forgot his childhood, and did countless acts of chessed to help those in need by providing them with honorable means of making a livelihood. As a leader, he personally founded, advocated for and established strong Torah institutions in the community. He firmly believed that a strong Jewish education must be available to every Jewish child as this would be the only way to guarantee our continued heritage and Mesorah. Mr. Hematian z"l was a true supporter of the Yeshiva and its mission to provide a quality education to every child so that they would grow up to be proud and accomplished members of Klal Yisrael.
