Not long ago, he was his parents' little Tzaddik'l, brought to cheder with love and hopes and dreams. He remained the same sweet boy he'd always been, trying to follow his parents' guidance and do what's right. Yet, as he grew older and began to develop his own identity, he found himself struggling to establish his unique place in the community. There were many who could not understand his struggles and he soon found himself on the streets, dejected and misunderstood. Rejected by a system that cannot or would not embrace him.
It could be that those who had influence made the mistakes. Or maybe they were simply not equipped to deal with his struggles. Perhaps some other factor contributed to his poor choices. Whatever the reason, in the struggle to establish his identity, this young man finds himself labeled and rejected. At the end of the day, he is just a child. Our child; yours and mine. And he is suffering.
Do you recognize this young man? Surely you know a bucher like him; bucherim who have gone through dark times and found themselves with no Yeshiva willing to take them in. With no structure and no guidance, these neshamos are left with no hope and no future. Indeed, their unique inner sparkle seems dimmed.
Three years ago, a few courageous individuals led by the renowned singer R' Beri Weber answered the call of these desperate souls and their parents. Establishing Yeshiva Kochvei Ohr, they took on the mission to raise these fallen stars and bring out their sparkle once again. Here, every bucher is welcomed with an open heart, regardless of background or history. The results are astounding; within two years remarkable changes have become evident. Bucherim who were once faltering are now upstanding members of society.
Kochvei Ohr quickly earned its distinction as a place where every bucher can reach his true potential. Structured by leading Mechanchim and professional therapists, this unique program guides young adults in Torah and Avodas Hashem, while at the same time, helping them build self-esteem and achieve life goals. Professional Maggidai Shiur, daily classes in Gemarah, Halacha and Hashkafah, guest speakers, a full English curriculum and special classes to teach finance and business all contribute to a program that ensures every bucher has the tools to grow at his own level. The effects of the Yeshiva are undeniable. True to its name, Kochvei Ohr is bringing new light to our stars.
Now the Yeshiva needs your help to continue saving bucherim and their future generations! Yes, our people, our communities, our very future is on the line! Your support will not save one lost soul; it will save countless generations from being lost! We must establish a financial foundation that will generate the necessary funds to keep inspiring our boys and helping them grow.
For Kochvei Ohr to continue its vital life-saving work, we must raise $1,000,000. It's a big number but a small price to pay when Yiddishe Neshamos are at stake.
