The loss of a parent is an open wound that never truly heals.
When a young parent dies, the aftershocks of that loss reverberate through every moment of the child’s life.
Visiting day and parent-teacher conferences… Bar mitzvahs and Birkas Kohanim… Siddur plays and graduations… Pesach Seders and upsherins… First day of school and mesivta farhers… Meeting the mechutanim and family trips…
In the initial aftermath of parental loss, the village often steps in to raise the child.
But as time — and the rest of the world — moves on, the child remains alone with their grief…
Links Family understands that grief is a forever thing.
We give grieving children a safe space where they can be seen and understood. A safety net of adults to support them as they speak and share, giving them tools to heal and grow. A community of peers who understand what they’re going through … because they’ve been there too.
And while the parent-sized void in the child’s life can never be filled, Links Family is there to give them the support they need… for as long as they need it.
We offer an ever-expanding range of services — yahrtzeit packages, monthly publications, Shabbatons, therapeutic art & music groups, in-person events, therapy referrals and funding, legal & financial services, an exclusive clothing shop, shidduch advocacy, chassan/kallah programs, and more — because every griever’s journey is unique and requires a different level of support.
The loss of a parent lasts forever… but the loneliness doesn’t have to.

My father?s 45th yahrtzheit was this past Rosh Hashonah. It is a milestone in my life and in my grief journey.
After discovering Links 13 years ago, and learning so much about the grief process, and healing, I am honored to be a part of the Links family as a Baltimore branch leader.
I am also privy to the birds eye view of what Links does and HOW. Dignity is their motto. Respect is another. Commitment their modus operandi.
Please partner with Dovid and myself to help Links continue to do what they do in the way they do it.
