Ushie and Yelli Koenig are a most respected and beloved couple in Kew Gardens Hills. Known for their open home and hearts, they have built an epicenter of chesed that impacts many sectors of our community and beyond. Their gracious residence has been the site of various parlor meetings (including a "Meet-n-Greet" for our very own Rabbi Ginsparg!), tzedakah fundraisers and is a welcoming oasis of hachnosas orchim, where guests feel comfortable staying a night or longer. The Koenigs exude a simchas hachaim, warmth and kavod haTorah that inspires their large circle of friends and loving family and resonates deeply in their children and grandchildren. They are the dedicated, proud parents of four BYQ talmidos, and have uncharacteristically accepted this honor simply from a sense of hakoras hatov to Bais Yaakov for the chinuch and values imparted to their daughters.
